BEHIND THE LENS
About Renee Felts
Hi, I'm Renee Felts, a Certified Professional Photographer (CPP) and the heart behind Joy Life Photos. I specialize in family, lifestyle, Fresh 48 newborn, and small event photography, creating timeless images that celebrate life's most joyful and meaningful moments.
My love for photography began years ago as I documented special moments with family and friends. During the quiet reflection of the COVID era, that passion grew into a calling, inspiring me to pursue photography professionally through education, mentorship, and hands-on experience. Today, I'm proud to be a Certified Professional Photographer and an active member of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA), the Professional Photographers of North Carolina (PPNC), and the Virginia Professional Photographers Association (VPPA). These professional organizations help me continue refining my craft so I can provide every client with an exceptional photography experience.
I am a wife, mother, and proud grandmother who finds joy in photographing genuine connections and authentic moments. Much of my time is spent around beautiful Lake Gaston, where I love capturing vacationing families, lake reunions, milestone celebrations, and special lakefront events. Whether you're gathering generations together, celebrating a birthday, welcoming a new baby with a Fresh 48 session, or simply wanting to preserve this season of life, I would be honored to tell your story.
Based in Littleton, North Carolina, I proudly serve Lake Gaston, Littleton, Warrenton, Ebony, Halifax, Roanoke Rapids, South Hill, and surrounding North Carolina and Virginia communities. As I begin retirement after a rewarding 40-year career in higher education, I'm excited to devote even more time to serving families and creating photographs that will be treasured for generations.
Let's create joyful memories together—one photo at a time.

A LITTLE MORE ABOUT ME
-
Photography brings me immense joy, which is why I named my business JoyLife Photos. I’m drawn to the beauty of everyday moments—genuine laughter, tender hugs, milestones, and simple joys. These memories are priceless treasures, and I consider it a privilege to help families preserve them.

As time passes, I’ve come to deeply appreciate the importance of capturing life as it happens—so we can look back and relive the sweet times we’ve shared. My motto, “Making joyful memories one photo at a time,” is more than a tagline—it’s the heart of everything I do.
